Medical Finance Specialist

The Patient Accounts Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, billing, collections, and patient account management processes.
- This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a customer service-oriented mindset to address patient inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
An effective Patient Accounts Coordinator must possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, front office staff, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review daily reports of pending patient statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate directly with front office staff to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Answer incoming patient calls through a designated extension line and return calls within 24 hours excluding weekends.
- Document all communications with patients in the electronic medical record system.
- May be trained on accepting credit card payments (in the future) Refer patients' complex issues to Collector or ROPS manager.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field.
- Proficient in English Language.
- Experience in medical billing, patient responsibility.
- Customer Service-Oriented Mindset.
A successful Patient Accounts Coordinator should have a strong foundation in medical terminology, knowledge of insurance reimbursement policies, and proficiency in software applications used in the field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Medical Billing or Coding.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
