Job Title: Medical Records Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

As a Medical Records Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and preparing medical records and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned in the client portal. You will also assist the medical provider during scheduled appointments of veterans by remotely interviewing them via video or telephone conference platform, transcribing their medical history, and documenting physical examination findings. Additionally, you will complete all sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment, transfer data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal, and submit DBQs in the client portal.

You will also meet with medical providers to discuss each assigned case in order to determine the final diagnosis per DBQ and for approval of medical opinions. Furthermore, you will coordinate with the medical providers and other team members regarding scheduled appointments per day.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have a BSN and an active PHRN license. You must also have good communication skills in order to assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues well. Additionally, you must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be flexible in work schedule changes as needed.

You must take accountability for all assigned cases and be proficient with the use of MS applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You will also assist the Lead and/or Trainer in the improvement of processes and assist in the creation of process-related templates as needed.
