As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic landscape of our institution. This is an exceptional opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of the next generation of legal professionals.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and learning, as well as excellent research skills. They will be able to design and deliver engaging curricula, supervise postgraduate students, and conduct high-quality research aligned with our faculty's focus areas.

We are seeking someone who is highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work effectively in a multilingual environment. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in leadership roles within the faculty, serve on committees, and contribute to university structures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and learning at the undergraduate level, including supervision of LLB dissertations
  • Conducting own research aligned with the faculty's focus areas
  • Supervising postgraduate students and producing creative research outputs
  • Participating in administrative and management responsibilities
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a PhD (NQF level 10) in Law or a PhD/DPhil in Law (NQF level 10). A minimum of three years' experience in academia is also required.

Alternatively, candidates with a master's degree (NQF level 9) in Law and a minimum of five years' post-admission practical legal experience in private practice or seven years in public prosecution may be considered. Active involvement in research with publications in accredited journals is also essential.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Proven record of effective postgraduate supervision
  • Academic leadership and management experience
  • Expertise in teaching-learning and research in public/private/mercantile law
