Academic Leadership Position

We are seeking a seasoned academic leader to join our institution as Deputy Dean: Teaching and Learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational delivery of the Faculty strategy and plan, providing functional and academic leadership, and ensuring quality assurance across campuses.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about teaching and learning to take on a key leadership role and contribute to the growth and development of our Faculty.

Job Description

The Deputy Dean: Teaching and Learning will be responsible for:

  • Managing the operational delivery of the Faculty strategy and plan
  • Providing functional and academic leadership to ensure quality assurance across campuses
  • Aligning academic programmes and modes of delivery across campuses
  • Implementing and monitoring systems and processes for continuous quality assurance
  • Managing quality assurance of academic programmes across sites of delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in one of the Faculty's disciplines (NQF level 10)
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years' senior management experience
  • Significant teaching and learning experience within the higher education environment
  • Membership and/or professional registration with appropriate academic and professional networks
