Job Description

This is an entry-level position requiring knowledge development in a specific area of drafting, e.g., telecommunications, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, or civil drawings. The incumbent will operate a computer-aided drafting (CAD) system under direct supervision and will have their work revised or spot-checked while in progress.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings to scale in accordance with clients' requests.
  • Perform mathematical, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.
  • To-scale engineering drawings using a computer-aided drafting system.

The incumbent will also be responsible for detailed design drawings and related specifications of civil/electrical equipment according to engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of training at a technical school or equivalent experience.
  • Proven AutoCad skills through schooling, certificate, or experience.
  • Strong PC/IT skills (i.e., Word, Excel, etc).
  • Able to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Customer-oriented.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.
