Supply Chain Manager Job Description

This position is for a skilled Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing warehouse operations, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels, and building long-term supplier relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the complete supply chain, from sourcing materials to final delivery to end consumer or business
  • Manage, track, and optimize the outbound logistics from supplier to warehouse daily to ensure timely delivery and avoid fines
  • Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and align procurement strategies accordingly
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing holding costs
  • Create regular Purchase Orders using inventory planning software and in-house systems, following established criteria with transparent documentation of quantity determinations
  • Coordinate with shipping partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers across the US
  • Implement OKRs to monitor supply chain health, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement
  • Establish, maintain, source, and negotiate strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, building relationships, and ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Work closely with logistics partners to resolve issues, optimize transit times, and enhance service levels
  • Travel to trade shows and suppliers as needed to source new suppliers, typically 1-3 times per year
  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant US regulations and international standards
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to address disruptions

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in supply chain and logistics management. They should also have proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience working with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.
