Medical Office Representative Position

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Representative to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate patient records within Athena EHR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer patient calls in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their needs promptly and efficiently.
  • Schedule primary care appointments, including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in Athena EHR.
  • Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies.

This role requires strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
