Senior Operations Lead

We are seeking a seasoned operations professional to spearhead and scale our remote operations team. This leadership role requires someone with strong finance and bookkeeping expertise, coupled with proven experience in operations management.

  • Lead a team of 4-8 operations specialists covering business operations, accounting/HR, administrative support, sales/marketing support, and business technology.
  • Provide strategic guidance, performance management, and professional development for team members with diverse skill sets.

The ideal candidate will have a systematic and methodical approach to building scalable operational processes, strong analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills. They will be able to create structure and order from multi-faceted operational challenges and drive measurable business results in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Directly manage a team of operations specialists.
    • Provide strategic guidance and performance management for team members.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Oversee bookkeeping and accounting operations, including A/R management, billing cycles, payment processing, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain relationships with CPAs and external financial advisors.
  • Strategic Operations & Systems:
    • Design and implement scalable back-office processes that enable our professional services and sales teams to focus on client delivery and business development.
    • Collaborate with Business Operations Technologists to enhance system integrations, automation, and data management.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of operations management experience, preferably managing remote or distributed teams.
  • Strong finance and bookkeeping background with hands-on experience in financial operations and compliance.
  • Experience managing HR functions, including recruiting, payroll, and compliance, and managing external consultants and vendors across multiple disciplines.

Tech Requirements:

  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online preferred), ERP systems, and CRM/marketing platforms and technologies.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Understanding of HR compliance, payroll systems, and employee lifecycle management.
