Senior HR Generalist Job Description

This role is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on various HR-related matters, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, labor relations, employment law, health and safety, workers' compensation, organizational development, performance management, onboarding, training, data management and analytics.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide general expertise and counsel in areas including recruiting, compensation, benefits, labor relations, employment law, health and safety, workers' compensation, organizational development, performance management, onboarding, training, and data management and analytics.
  • Address complaints and resolve them by implementing innovative solutions.
  • Perform interviews, process and track resolutions on employee issues and concerns.
  • Performance Management – Provide management with information required to complete and administer performance reviews for the staff. Process NOPA Forms for approved salary increases when necessary.
  • Assist Managers, Supervisors, and employees on interpretation and fair and reasonable application of policies/procedures to ensure consistency.
  • Conduct orientations with new hires to provide resourceful information concerning benefits and administration, office security and safety.
  • Administration and communication of Company Benefit programs.
  • Provides timely written and verbal communication to management on various Human Resource issues and challenges.
  • Assists with development and implementation of effective employee data management and reporting systems, specifically those that relate to compensation and benefits, secure master lists are updated and accurate.
  • Assists in maintaining the smooth operation of the functional areas.
  • Maintains good employee relations, able to manage conflict when it arises.
  • Administration – Reviews and ensures compensation is accurate.
  • Maintain concentration and focus to meet performance goals.
  • React positively to an ongoing, changing environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure when attempting to meet deadlines and performance goals.
  • Maintain good working relationships with assigned supervisors and coworkers and other service stakeholders.
  • Work safely without presenting a threat to self or others.
  • Perform additional related duties as may be required by management from time to time.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in HR, preferably in a similar role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
