Network Engineer III Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer III to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your advanced knowledge of IP networking concepts to develop and implement network engineering solutions.

This position requires substantial experience in network engineering, including developing methods of procedure and operational design work. You should have an understanding of MPLS/RSVP in carrier networks and be able to apply this knowledge to real-world problems.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform tasks associated with Network Engineer I to II roles as required
  • Conduct training on relevant new topics, including creating materials
  • Determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments independently, under high-level guidance of Network Architecture
  • Provide expert-level guidance on BGP routing issues
  • Review Change MOPs from other engineers for technical approval and escalate those that are outside of your knowledge
  • Manage complex project-based work to the required deadlines based on high-level guidance from the Design team
  • Resolve complex and new faults through applying existing fundamental knowledge of the systems in use
  • Maintain the network support process and ensure all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
  • Use network management software and tools to investigate and diagnose network problems, collect performance statistics, and create reports, working with users, other staff, and suppliers as appropriate
  • Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures
  • Provide reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users, and managers
  • Monitor service component capacity and initiate actions to resolve any shortfalls according to agreed procedures; apply techniques to control the demand upon a particular resource or service

Requirements:

  • Advanced understanding of IP networking concepts
