About the Role

The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited is seeking a Senior Corporate Portfolio Manager to support Institutional Banking teams with end-to-end management of the credit portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting credit approvals within delegated authority, reviewing and challenging credit submissions, and providing recommendations to senior credit approvers on credit-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support global teams in managing credit portfolios within agreed risk frameworks
  • Work collaboratively with senior credit approvers on credit-related matters, including reviewing and challenging credit submissions
  • Identify macroeconomic, regulatory, and industry trends, and proactively address emerging risks in the customer portfolio
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of risk practices and processes
  • Ensure compliance with credit requirements and relevant policies
About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have 6-10 years' experience within the banking or financial services industry in a relevant credit decision role. You will also possess institutional banking experience in credit assessment and management of customer portfolios, as well as experience in credit decisioning, handling credit approval processes, analyzing credit risk factors, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Knowledge of macro and industry economics, financial products commonly utilized by institutional customers, and regulatory requirements for managing corporate credit exposures is also required.

A tertiary qualification in banking, finance, accounting, economics, or law would be desirable. At ANZ, we value a growth mindset and are open to considering candidates who may not have all of these skills but have most of them in their toolbox.
