This is a critical role within our organization, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our global workforce.
The primary focus of this position will be on U.S. payroll operations, with significant involvement in Canadian, Australian, and Indian payroll.
Responsibilities:- Payroll Processing: Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees within US, Canada and Australia.
- Data Upload: Upload Canada and Australia payroll data into third party vendor system for processing.
- US Payroll: Process US payroll utilizing Workday.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with global People, Commissions and Accounting teams to ensure all payroll data is received timely to meet strict processing deadlines.
- Timecard Management: Coordinate with managers to ensure all hourly timecards are completed, reviewed and approved.
- Payroll Review: Process, review and analyze payrolls for all pay groups.
- New Hire and Termination Processing: Ensure accurate data for all new hires, employee changes, leave of absence and terminations.
- State Final Pay Requirements: Comply with state final pay requirements for termination payments and process in a timely manner.
- Unemployment Claims: Respond to and/or complete unemployment claims.
- Payroll Inbox Management: Monitor the payroll inbox and respond to email inquiries promptly.
- Audit Support: Participate in Year End reconciliation along with Year Begin preparation.
- Research and Resolution: Assist with payroll related audits, research and resolve payroll related inquiries from employees and management.
- U.S. Payroll Experience: 2 - 4 years of dedicated U.S. payroll experience.
- Workday Proficiency: Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with Workday for U.S. payroll processing.
- Microsoft Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, particularly in understanding and applying tax laws related to payroll.
- Payroll Registers and Audit Reports: Ability to read and interpret payroll registers and audit reports effectively.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Independence and Time Management: Must be proactive, efficient, and capable of working independently and managing strict processing deadlines.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- India Payroll Experience: Experience with India payroll.
- Canada and Australia Payroll Experience: Experience processing payroll for Canada and Australia.
- Global Payroll Experience: Global payroll experience (including APAC regions like Singapore and China).
- EOR Payroll Experience: Experience with Employer of Record (EOR) payroll.
- Familiarity with Local Payroll Tax Filings: Familiarity with local payroll tax filings and statutory compliance in various countries.
- Jira Ticketing System: Experience using Jira ticketing system or similar.
- Google Applications: Proficiency in Google applications (Gmail, Slack, Google Sheets).
- Certified Payroll Professional: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
