Job Description
Patient Access Department Managers are responsible for overseeing the intake, admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients across all healthcare programs at our organization. This includes outpatient mental health, psychiatric rehabilitation, substance use services, health home, and affiliated residential treatment programs.

As a Patient Access Department Manager, you will lead and manage the daily operations of the department, including supervision of intake coordinators, admissions specialists, and records clerks. You will also develop, maintain, and continuously improve policies and workflows for new admissions, program transfers, and discharges.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing daily operations of the Patient Access Department
  • Developing and maintaining policies and workflows for new admissions, program transfers, and discharges
  • Cordinating with Program Directors and Clinical Managers to ensure appropriate placement of clients into contracted service lines

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field. You will also require minimum 3 years of experience in admissions, access management, or intake coordination in a behavioral health or healthcare setting. Additionally, you will need minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience and working knowledge of COMAR, Medicaid, HIPAA, and behavioral health program eligibility criteria.

You will also need proficiency in electronic health record systems and strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
