Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to manage our accounts receivables, coordinate with insurance companies and healthcare providers, handle denied claims, and ensure timely reimbursement of medical expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage our cash flow by keeping up-to-date records of all accounts receivable
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies for claim submission and follow-up
  • Generate revenue by making payment arrangements, collecting accounts and monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts
  • Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients, monitoring payments and following up with patients when payment lapses occur
  • Maintain accurate records of Medicare bad-debt cost reports
  • Secure outstanding balance payments for patient care
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and ensure timely payment
  • Handle denied claims and appeal if necessary
  • Reconcile payments and post to patient accounts accurately
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations at all times
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding their accounts

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a US Medical AR Specialist
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding practices is essential
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare billing process is required
  • Familiarity with various healthcare insurance plans and related policies is necessary
  • Experience with HIPAA regulations is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and computer systems is necessary
  • Able to work in any time zone (including graveyard shift)
