Job Description

Home-Based Dispatcher:

Monitor daily driving logs to guarantee compliance with DOT regulations and meet customer requirements. Provide exceptional service as a reliable point of contact for drivers and management. Develop daily plans to balance drivers' health and safety with customer needs while managing loads efficiently.

  • Combine shipments based on routes and timeline to minimize truck/driver requirements.
  • Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
  • Identify special needs of shipments and assist drivers in obtaining necessary documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure drivers maintain compliance with DOT regulations and meet customer requirements.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for drivers and management.
  • Monitor daily driving logs to ensure DOT compliance.
  • Assist the Deputy Terminal Manager in ensuring truck and driver readiness.
  • Develop daily plans to balance drivers' health and safety with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads.
  • Implement programs to manage costs effectively.
  • Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent; Logistics or transportation degree preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is an asset.
  • Familiarity with DOT and OSHA compliance regulations is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Excel is necessary for data analysis and entry.
  • Critical thinking and fast responsiveness are essential for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dispatcher experience is highly desirable.
