Translation Specialist

The role of a skilled Translation Specialist is to work on translating captions/subtitles, Machine Translation Post Editing (MTPE), and Transcreation for various projects. This position requires working as a remote translator with other professionals and reporting directly to the project manager.

  • Translate content within captions/subtitles, documents, web pages, and software by utilizing a natural understanding of the target language and good grasp of grammar.
  • Culturally review translations done using Machine Translation (MTPE) to ensure accuracy and cultural relevance.
  • Manage translation databases through Translation Management Software to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Ensure quality assurance for the translation process, guaranteeing high-quality translations meet client expectations.
  • Collaborate with different departments to offer translation services while fostering strong working relationships and communication.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications or Linguistics.
  • Minimum four years experience in the translation field, demonstrating expertise and proficiency.
  • Proficiency in any Translation Management System tools and software to ensure seamless integration and workflow.
  • In-depth knowledge of the translation process, terminology, and localization techniques to provide effective and accurate translations.
  • Familiarity with localization guidelines and standards to deliver culturally sensitive and relevant translations.
  • The ability to convert written materials into a second language, showcasing linguistic skills and adaptability.
  • Excellent translation, writing, and communication skills to facilitate clear and concise communication with clients and team members.
  • Fluency in at least two of the target languages to enhance translation capabilities and cultural understanding.
  • The ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet client expectations.
