Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and scalability of our systems. You're a proactive engineer who thrives in environments where you can automate and improve existing processes.

You have a passion for maintaining the stability of production systems and improving overall user experience. You are adept at using monitoring tools to foresee issues before they affect the user and have experience in incident management to resolve issues swiftly.

Automation scripts, monitoring systems, and alerts will be your tools to proactively address issues. You will create, develop and manage these components to ensure the robustness and reliability of production systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or similar role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including database design, performance tuning and querying techniques.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages like Python or Typescript.
  • Proven ability to design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated with minimal oversight.

Above and Beyond

  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Knowledge or experience with low-code tools or robotic process automation.
  • Familiarity with advanced backend concepts.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
