Security Monitoring Specialist

The Security Monitoring Specialist is responsible for overseeing the live surveillance of multiple facilities, ensuring safety and compliance across monitored properties. This role plays a critical part in reducing fraud, identifying violations of law or company policy, and maintaining physical security by controlling door access at high-security facilities.
Responsibilities include monitoring live security camera feeds, issuing disciplinary action as needed, identifying and documenting unauthorized staff departures, and escalating incidents to supervisors and administrators immediately. The specialist will also track scheduled shifts, initiate calls for replacement staff when on-duty personnel are absent, and record all incidents, observations, and enforcement actions in a daily security log.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Familiarity with surveillance software and access control systems is preferred, along with professional communication and documentation habits.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, prior experience in surveillance, law enforcement, security, or residential care monitoring, and knowledge of HIPAA, mandated reporting, and basic facility operations. A background check and confidentiality agreement are also required.
