Job Overview

As a Utility Engineer 1, you will be responsible for analyzing and cataloging overhead utility assets to ensure consistent, high-quality data collection.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in computer software and good written and oral communication abilities.

Additionally, you will work closely with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment with industry standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to support safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and catalog overhead utility assets
  • Learn to identify and document electrical utility equipment, faults, and potential hazards
  • Assist in developing and maintaining utility asset datasets
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure data accuracy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support safe and efficient project execution
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience as a lineman in the electric utility field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills and good written and oral communication abilities
  • Nice-to-have: Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), national engineering standards, utility construction standards, and best industry engineering practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work remotely and coordinate effectively with a distributed workforce
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies within the utility sector
