Senior Accountant Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information.

You will be responsible for recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions into our general ledger system. This will involve preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

Maintaining the general ledger is a critical responsibility, including transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. You will also summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

As a Senior Accountant, you will perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close responsibilities, ensuring that all deadlines and controls are met in accordance with our policies and procedures.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure optimum process and efficiency. This may involve partnering with external auditors on annual audits and quarterly reviews, as well as leading internal audit engagements and completing external audits.

Avoiding legal challenges is crucial, and you will ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, you will secure financial information by completing database backups and protecting the organization's financial assets.

We require a Bachelor's degree and more than seven years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area. Extensive experience in US non-profit accounting, including reporting and compliance (tax), is essential. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS is also required.
