Job Description

The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing general accounting operations and financial transactions. This includes supervising account balances, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring accuracy in all company accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities include reconciling account balances, managing accounts payable and receivable, creating timely and accurate accounting reports, and developing recommendations to optimize accounting systems and procedures.

  • Review and manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status
  • Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to executives and senior management
  • Develop recommendations to optimize accounting systems and procedures
  • Support personnel on accounting control procedures

To excel in this position, candidates should possess excellent analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, experience in managing accountants and junior analysts, proficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable, creating timely and accurate accounting reports, and developing recommendations to optimize accounting systems and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, Chief or Senior Accountant
  • Proficient with typical accounting procedures and good knowledge of GAAP
  • Practical experience with accounting software packages such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with accuracy and attention to detail
