Embedded Linux Field Engineer

Our team is seeking a seasoned Embedded Linux Field Engineer to spearhead the expansion of our reach in mission-critical industries. This role involves collaborating with customers to understand their requirements and providing expert guidance on Canonical technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for elaborating solutions, participating in project delivery, conveying market requirements, and serving as a customer advocate and trusted advisor.

This position requires fluency in Mandarin and the ability to travel to China regularly. The ideal candidate should possess extensive Linux experience, distribution/packaging expertise, solid embedded Linux experience, and proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain Canonical technology
  • Elaborate solutions to be proposed to prospective clients
  • Participate in the delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux
  • Convey market requirements to key stakeholders and contribute to the development or refinement of generic solutions to unlock market potential
  • Be both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor to Canonical
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fluent in Mandarin and willing to travel to China regularly
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Extensive Linux experience – Debian or Ubuntu preferred
  • Distribution/Packaging experience (deb, rpm, ...)
  • Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot...)
  • Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
  • Professional written and spoken English in addition to the local language
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented, ability to multi-task
  • A personal drive to meet commitments; humble learner and quick study
