Job Title: Channel Development Manager

This is a critical leadership position responsible for developing and implementing the company's channel strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in trade marketing, excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, and strong quality and process orientation.

About the Role
  • This role involves leading the strategic thinking and direction of assigned channels, creating strategies, and evaluating channel standards.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with category strategy and field sales teams to drive cohesive channel growth aligned to company priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as primary knowledge center of the channel within the team.
  2. Support research and studies to improve shopper understanding within the channel.
  3. Regularly review company performance by channel, area, and recommend interventions to address opportunities.
  4. Collaborate with field sales to gather insights on account and channel.
  5. Maintain collective view of categories within the channel to drive achievement of company channel sales metrics.
  6. Develop and cascade channel standards and overall channel strategy.
  7. Be owner of channel shopper comms and KVs, as well as understanding of ASC guidelines.
  8. Collaborate with category strategy to align initiatives to channel and customer strategy.
  9. Support channel manager in TMG channel gatekeeping of assigned channel and approve programs based on channel strategy and company priorities.
  10. Ensure alignment of field sales BDP activities to channel and company priorities.
  11. Develop and evaluate channel specific omnibus programs.
  12. Support channel manager in forecasting volume builds for channel omnibus programs.
  13. Support channel manager in developing customer story for customer engagements, BRs, and JBPs.
  14. Provide allocation principle based on sufficiency and channel strategy for NPD and promo packs.
  15. Support channel manager in consolidating channel calendar (both TMG and BDP).
  16. Perform cost analysis for channel programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Preferably 3-5 years experience in trade marketing.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong quality and process orientation.
  • Organized and able to move results forward with cross-functional team.
  • Quick learner and highly adaptable to change.
