Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Publishing Assistant to collaborate with our founder on the development and promotion of children's books.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate book creation, work with illustrators and ghostwriters, and support project timelines.
  • Content Support: Review and provide feedback on drafts; maintain book-related files and documentation.
  • Marketing & Advertising Assistance: Assist in promotional efforts, content preparation for listings, and outreach; help execute marketing campaigns across online platforms.
  • Publishing Support: Research best practices for self-publishing platforms (e.g., Amazon KDP); assist in manuscript formatting and preparation; track royalties, sales, and promotional results.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers.
  • Self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Familiarity with children's book content and trends is a plus.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark.
  • Experience with graphic design tools or basic book formatting.
  • Background in marketing or social media promotion for creative products.
