Job Overview

A Patient Service Advocate plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive the necessary support and care. Their primary responsibility is to understand patient needs by engaging in meaningful conversations and actively listening to their concerns.

To meet these needs, the Patient Service Advocate must effectively coordinate information between patients, medical personnel, administrative staff, and external entities. This requires a thorough understanding of facility policies, medical resources, and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming calls in accordance with established procedures and departmental standards.
  • Provide assistance to patients regarding their queries and concerns.
  • Collect outstanding patient balances in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with third-party entities, such as insurance providers, to resolve patient account-related issues.
  • Place outbound collection calls while adhering to procedure and departmental standards.
  • Support patients in resolving billing-related queries and concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines by safeguarding protected health information within the scope of their duties.
  • Maintain a team-oriented approach, supporting department and company goals and policies.
  • Establish a strong attendance record and punctuality by being reliable and on-time for work and breaks.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Preference given to candidates with a college degree or at least two years of college education.
  • Relevant degrees or coursework in the medical field are considered advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to handle confidential information securely.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills.
