Urban Development Project Manager Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned project manager to take on a leadership role in our Urban Development team. As a key member of our management structure, you will oversee the delivery of complex projects, working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and execute urban development projects from initiation through to completion. You will be accountable for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

About the Role:
  • Manage multiple urban development projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including discipline directors, business development directors, and technical leads, to develop project plans, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Liaise with external partners, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution, managing relationships, and resolving conflicts as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, regularly reviewing and updating these documents to reflect changing project requirements.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
  • Implement effective communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed about project progress, issues, and changes.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in project management.
  3. Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar.
  7. Knowledge of North American standards and regulations related to urban development projects.
  8. Experience in developing and implementing digital solutions for urban development projects, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes.
