About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Jazy Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with company standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Budgeting
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring costs remain within allocated limits.
  • Tendering and Procurement Strategies
    • Review and analyze tenders to ensure they meet company standards and project specifications.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best pricing and value for the project.
  • Cost Control and Financial Reporting
    • Regularly monitor and track project costs, comparing actual expenditures to budgeted costs.
    • Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, outlining project costs, forecasts, and potential issues.
  • Contract Administration and Risk Management
    • Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
    • Identify and assess financial risks associated with the project, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
    • Resolve any cost-related disputes or issues, fostering good working relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
  • Education
    • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a general contractor or construction environment.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., Plan swift, CostX, Builder trend).
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for cost tracking and financial reporting.
    • Familiarity with construction methodologies and industry standards.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Other
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Knowledge of relevant construction laws and regulations.
