Software Development Engineer in Test Automation (SDET)

The SDET role involves working on cutting-edge automated testing projects to deliver high-quality technology products to clients. This position is an integral part of a global Agile Product Development team, responsible for designing, building, testing, and delivering software applications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality automated tests from acceptance criteria and quality standards to help the scrum team understand user requirements.
  • Maintain daily automated test execution by ensuring the test suite has adequate coverage and failed tests are reviewed consistently.
  • Collaborate with the scrum team to identify suitable tests for automation, aiming to deliver working software to production at the end of each sprint.
  • Implement best practices in code maintainability and design patterns, including modularity and reusability.
  • Enhance quality throughout software development stages, especially adopting a shift-left testing mindset.
  • Advocate quality within the scrum team and support knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and training programs.

Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or significant experience in a technology-related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities to focus on value-added tasks.
  • Understand agile software development principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in API-based automated test development and UI automated test development using tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.
  • Knowledge of application profiling and database optimization concepts.
  • Skills in unit testing, SQL, and manual testing techniques.
  • Experience in converting manual tests into automated scripts.
  • Technical proficiency in C# and similar development tools.

Nice to Have
  • Ability to create test scenarios from functional requirements using Gherkin format.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or Azure SQL.
  • Skills in writing T-SQL and data testing.
  • Automated testing expertise through DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Debugging skills using Azure Application Insights or other APM tools.
