Remote Payroll Specialist

The role of a Remote Payroll Specialist is to provide accurate and timely payroll processing for a growing team. This part-time position involves managing end-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly and monthly basis, maintaining up-to-date and accurate employee data using Employment Hero, and submitting TFN declarations and other payroll compliance documentation to the relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee data, including salaries, benefits, and time off, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Submit necessary documentation to the ATO, including TFN declarations and other payroll compliance documents.
  • Process termination payments in line with contracts or Awards, ensuring that all legal requirements are met.
  • Reconcile and report on leave entitlements, ensuring that employees receive accurate and timely payment.
  • Follow up on employee expenses and timesheet approvals, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed promptly.
  • Respond to staff payroll queries clearly and promptly, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Assist with month-end and EOFY reconciliations for wages, PAYG, and superannuation, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Contribute to payroll-related reporting for the finance team, providing valuable insights and analysis to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a payroll role within a medium to large organisation.
  • Proficient in using Employment Hero and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
