Job Overview:

Tax Client Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Client Specialist to serve as the primary contact for existing client accounts. This role involves overseeing nexus reviews, permit applications, and offboarding processes to ensure seamless client experiences.

You will be responsible for managing changes to existing client accounts, moving projects through the workflow in a timely manner, and providing support across various areas to maximize onboarding efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage changes to existing client accounts and move projects through the workflow in a timely manner.
  • Assist clients and their Sales Tax Accountants with issues related to tax settings, platforms, permits, and offboarding.
  • Analyze factors to determine nexus obligations; collaborate with Onboarding Specialist to review and present results before client meetings when ready.
  • Update and test tax collection settings on platforms for permit start/end dates.
  • Manage permit closures, final billings, paperwork, and system removals; ensure a positive end experience.
  • Provide support across listed areas to maximize onboarding efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary contact for billing-related changes or issues across all clients.
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements with the Onboarding Team.

Qualifications:

  • Strong preference for experience in tax auditing, tax consultancy, or tax advisory.
  • Experience with project management, detailed analysis, and research.
  • Positive references from past supervisors.
  • Sales tax experience is a plus, but not required.

About the Role:

This role involves serving as the principal contact for existing client accounts in areas such as annual nexus reviews, permit applications, and offboarding processes.

You will work directly with clients to address needs or concerns and ensure a positive experience.
