Sales Tax Expert

We're seeking a skilled Sales Tax Accountant to join our team. As a key member, you'll be responsible for ensuring clients' sales tax data is accurate and in compliance with state regulations. You will work closely with clients to resolve any issues that may arise during the filing process.
Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and submitting sales tax filings, monitoring clients' tax collection variances, and providing assistance to resolve time-critical issues. Additionally, you'll assist with special client projects, such as submitting late or amended sales tax returns and managing audits.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit sales tax filings on a monthly basis, working closely with clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor clients' tax collection variances and determine any issues that need to be addressed.
- Provide assistance to resolve time-critical issues, including working with sales tax authorities to help clients.
- Assist with special client projects, such as submitting late or amended sales tax returns and managing audits.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or auditing.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills, with a strong understanding of complex formulas and data analysis.
- Bonus points for US tax knowledge and/or holding a CPA certification.
- Detailed-oriented and analytical, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative mindset.
