
Strategic Business Partnership Developer

The purpose of this role is to foster business partnerships with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada, focusing on expanding our reach and driving growth. To achieve this goal, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (Part-Time) who can navigate complex education sector dynamics, establish strong relationships with senior academic stakeholders, and close high-value deals that drive long-term strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure partnerships with institutions in the specified regions, aligning our platform with their needs and goals.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand industry challenges and trends, informing business strategies and development.
- Develop tailored approaches for engaging with institutional clients, crafting compelling proposals and pitches to showcase the value proposition.
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
- Present and pitch our platform to educational leaders, highlighting its capabilities and benefits in enhancing student engagement and academic performance.
- Negotiate terms, finalize contracts, and ensure a smooth handoff to the partnerships team for onboarding and implementation.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with universities, fostering a deep understanding of their evolving needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful platform implementation within partnered institutions.
- Actively work to expand existing partnerships, identifying opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in the higher education sector, adapting strategies accordingly.
- Participate in conferences, webinars, and networking events to increase visibility and attract potential partners.
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators related to business development efforts, ensuring alignment with goals and revenue targets.
- As the company grows, lead the business development function, including hiring and managing Business Development Executives or additional sales staff.
- Contribute to overall business strategy, working closely with senior management to refine growth plans and institutional outreach.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Fluency in English language (American accent preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
- Proven track record of closing large deals with academic institutions and building long-term strategic partnerships.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to structure win-win deals that benefit both parties.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather insights from data and market trends to inform business strategies.
- Ability to think strategically about growth opportunities, while also being hands-on in execution.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trust and rapport with senior academic stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to maintaining and nurturing long-term partnerships.
- Familiarity with the academic ecosystem, including decision-making processes within colleges and universities.
