Financial Planning and Analysis Leader

Strategic FP&A professionals with strong accounting expertise are sought after by visionary organizations to drive financial planning and analysis efforts.

This high-autonomy role is ideal for analytical leaders who thrive in data-driven environments, excel at strategic decision-making, and can partner closely with senior executives.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasts that support operational excellence across various business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Create monthly financial reports with variance analysis against budget/forecast
  • Design and maintain operating models and dashboards using Excel or Power BI
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to evaluate the financial impact of initiatives
Accounting Support (NetSuite)
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close in NetSuite, working collaboratively with accounting staff
  • Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Help optimize NetSuite structure and reporting hierarchies to improve efficiency
  • Assist with setup and mapping of new accounts or departments as needed
Operational Finance
  • Support cash flow forecasting and treasury planning to ensure financial stability
  • Track headcount, utilization, and financial KPIs to inform business decisions
  • Prepare ad hoc financial models to support pricing, hiring, or strategic initiatives
Reporting & Audit Support
  • Maintain internal reporting packages for senior executives and investors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Provide financial data and analysis for external audits or tax filings, upholding regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls, maintaining a robust financial framework
Requirements
  • 7+ years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in FP&A
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and financial operations, with a focus on strategic decision-making
  • 2+ years of experience using NetSuite for accounting and reporting, with a strong understanding of its capabilities and limitations
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort building financial models, with a focus on data analysis and visualization
  • Experience supporting US-based companies, with a strong understanding of their financial needs and challenges
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with senior executives, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent English, including professional financial communication, with a focus on clarity and precision
  • Availability to work full-time aligned with US Central Standard Time (CST), with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and best practices
  • Experience with budgeting tools and processes, with a focus on streamlining financial operations
  • Prior work in consulting, SaaS, or offshore services environment, with a strong understanding of global financial markets and trends
  • Familiarity with Power BI, with experience designing and implementing data visualizations and analytics solutions
