
Medical Care Coordination Specialist

This Medical Coordinator position is responsible for facilitating a seamless patient intake process, ensuring accurate data entry and management of patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Patient Intake Management: Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
- Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments with healthcare providers.
- Medical Record Handling: Ensure accurate data entry and management of patient records in EHR systems.
- Insurance Verification: Assist in checking coverage and eligibility for medical procedures.
- Patient Communication: Handle inbound and outbound calls, responding to inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Pre-Appointment Preparation: Gather necessary medical history and documentation before consultations.
- Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- HIPAA Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to healthcare privacy regulations.
- Administrative Support: Assist with medical billing, claims processing, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Experience in medical administrative support or patient intake coordination.
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and healthcare scheduling software.
- Background in medical billing and insurance verification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a remote healthcare support role preferred.
