Medical Care Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused representative to join our team in providing exceptional patient service.
This role involves greeting callers professionally, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering calls promptly and addressing patient needs efficiently
- Scheduling primary care appointments, including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings
- Verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status
- Maintaining and updating patient records accurately
- Assisting with patient portal setup and troubleshooting
- Collaborating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery
- Responding to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies
Required qualifications include:
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features
- Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Preferred skills include expertise in family medicine/internal medicine scheduling protocols, proficiency in electronic health record systems, strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral coordination, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
