Electrical Engineering Specialist

About the Role

This position involves reviewing electrical construction drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing accurate material and labor estimates for electrical projects. The Electrical Engineering Specialist will review plans, specifications, and addenda to understand project scope, perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs for devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting, and other systems.

Responsibilities
  • Review electrical plans, specifications, and addenda to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Perform in-depth electrical quantity takeoffs, including measurement and quantification of materials using digital tools.
  • Develop organized takeoff sheets and data for the estimating team, facilitating collaboration and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with senior estimators to clarify scope and resolve drawing discrepancies, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Maintain project takeoff files, tracking progress and updates.
  • Update estimating workbooks with vendor quotes and revised quantities, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Requirements
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting, with a strong foundation in electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with digital takeoff software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration and documentation.
