Job Overview

This is a full-time remote accounting specialist position that will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial operations and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Vendor Setup & Compliance: Set up new vendors, collect W-9 forms, reconcile vendor statements, and protect confidential information.
    • Invoice Processing: Review invoices, perform 3-way matching, ensure proper GL coding, enter invoices, resolve discrepancies, and apply credits.
    • Payments & Scheduling: Maintain payment schedule, track and manage billings and payments for accuracy and timeliness.
    • Communication & Support: Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Payment Application & Deductions: Apply payments to invoices, verify deductions and credits, and retrieve remittance advice.
    • Reconciliation & Record-Keeping: Regular AR reconciliations, maintain AR records, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile online sales and bank deposits.
    • Monitoring & Reporting: Review AR aging, monitor unapplied payments, and prepare customer statements as needed.
Requirements
  • Accounting Experience: Background as an Accounting Specialist or Bookkeeper with experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with accounting platforms and Excel/Google Sheets; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Detail-Oriented: High accuracy and precision when managing financial data.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear, professional collaboration across teams to achieve business goals.
