We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple companies.
This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely weekly payroll processing for over 200 employees, utilizing a leading payroll software.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
About the RoleThis role entails overseeing and managing payroll operations across multiple companies, ensuring accurate and timely weekly payroll processing for over 200 employees.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and validating timesheets for approximately 150 hourly technicians across five companies, processing weekly payroll for ~50 salaried employees, and managing payroll for ~20 salespeople, including reconciling commission payouts against draws and sales performance.
Additionally, the Payroll Manager will maintain and update employee records in the payroll system, including new hire onboarding and terminations, adjust pay rates and compensation details as needed, and ensure PTO accruals are tracked and applied accurately.
The Payroll Manager will also ensure that payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate employee compensation records, and prepare payroll-related reports and audits as required.
Key Responsibilities- Weekly Payroll Processing
- Review and validate timesheets for approximately 150 hourly technicians across five companies.
- Process weekly payroll for ~50 salaried employees.
- Manage payroll for ~20 salespeople, including reconciling commission payouts against draws and sales performance.
- System Management & Employee Lifecycle
- Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system, including new hire onboarding and terminations.
- Adjust pay rates and compensation details as needed.
- Ensure PTO accruals are tracked and applied accurately.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate employee compensation records.
- Prepare payroll-related reports and audits as required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1 year in a lead or managerial role.
- Proficiency in payroll software, such as Paychex.
- Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
- Strong reconciliation skills, particularly with commission-based compensation.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
