Accounting Specialist Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled accounting specialist to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and prepare financial reports in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of financial transactions in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports for management review, highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Process payroll, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and coordinate with project managers to track costs and profitability for construction projects.
  • E nsure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and construction industry regulations, maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare documents for tax filings and audits, ensuring timely submissions and minimal risk.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an accountant or in a similar role is required.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and job costing is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software, including QuickBooks, Xero, or other cloud-based tools.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
