Mid-Senior Level Tax Professional

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled tax professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation, with expertise in individual, partnership, trust, and company compliance.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing working papers and assisting the onshore team with client tax compliance reports. This will include preparing and lodging individual income tax returns, business activity statements, installment activity statements, and fringe benefits tax returns.

The role also involves bookkeeping in client accounting files, including Xero, MYOB, and occasionally QuickBooks. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for payroll processing in client accounting files, uploading invoice payments, and processing quarterly superannuation payments.

  • Prepare and lodge individual income tax returns
  • Prepare and lodge business activity statements
  • Prepare and lodge installment activity statements
  • Prepare and lodge fringe benefits tax returns
  • Bookkeeping in client accounting files including Xero, MYOB and occasionally QuickBooks
  • Payroll processing in client accounting files including Xero and MYOB
  • Uploading invoice payments for clients
  • Processing quarterly superannuation payments
  • Preparation of monthly management reports (i.e., P&L and balance sheet) for clients from their accounting platforms Ad hoc tasks
  • Accounting for Division 7a loans
  • Tax planning
  • Trust distribution minutes
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants including individual tax returns, BAS's, IAS's, payroll etc. as needed
  • Any task deemed necessary by the Account Manager involving client management
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in Australian accounting or taxation
  • Knowledge with Australian Taxation and Compliance
  • General Accounting experience with solid background
  • Must have experience in Individual, Partnership, Trust, and Company Compliance
  • SMSF compliance knowledge is preferred
