Bookkeeper with Construction Industry Background

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a background in the construction industry and have excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Financial Transaction Management: Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in accounting software.
  • Bank Statement Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports for management review.
  • Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Invoice Tracking: Track invoices, expenses, and payments to ensure timely collections and disbursements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and construction industry regulations.
  • Tax Filings: Assist in preparing documents for tax filings and audits.
  • Project Costing: Coordinate with project managers to track costs and profitability for construction projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the construction industry and job costing is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting software.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and analytical skills, strong English communication skills: reading, writing, and speaking, high attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting, ability to work independently and meet deadlines, tech-savvy with knowledge of cloud-based accounting tools.
