Customer Support Associate

The Customer Support Associate role involves interacting with customers through various channels, including inbound and outbound calls, as well as the internet. This position focuses on providing exceptional customer service and resolving routine issues related to client products or services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that customer service delivered meets contractual performance standards.
  2. Clarify customer requirements, use decision-support tools, and provide appropriate resolutions to customer inquiries.
  3. Listen attentively to customer needs and concerns, demonstrating empathy while building rapport.
  4. Greet customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner using agreed-upon procedures.
  5. Maintain basic knowledge of client products and/or services.
  6. Prepare complete and accurate work, including notation of accounts as required.
  7. Participate in activities designed to improve customer satisfaction and business performance.
  8. Offer additional products and/or services.
  9. Track, document, and retrieve information in call tracking databases.
  10. Respond to customer inquiries by referring them to published materials, secondary sources, or more senior staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with three to six months of relevant experience preferred.
  • Courteous with strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong computer navigation skills and PC knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally.
  • Dependable with strong attention to detail.
  • Skilled in multi-tasking, including flexibility and adaptability.
  • Tolerance for repetitive work in a fast-paced, high-production work environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
  • Demonstrate patience in all customer contact situations, maintaining a pleasant and professional tone and manner.
  • Ability to rotate shifts, as needed.

This role requires a basic skill set to perform routine tasks within simple processes but lacks program/product-specific knowledge. Works under close supervision and clearly defined procedures. Starting to demonstrate familiarity with client terminology, operating standards, and procedures. Starter without sustained metric performance levels.
