Job Opportunity: Financial Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Financial Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of financial tasks, including tax returns, bookkeeping, research, and budgeting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Tax Returns: Prepare accurate and complete personal and business tax returns using firm templates and order of file.
  • Contact Clients: Communicate with clients to obtain required documents and information.
  • Research: Conduct independent research on necessary laws prior to submitting tax returns.
  • Financial Analysis: Determine tax liability, salary requirements, and estimated payments for clients.
  • Correspondence: Handle correspondence with IRS and state agencies, and perform tasks such as preparing payment plans and powers of attorney.
  • Bookkeeping: Perform external bookkeeping, adjusting balance sheets, handling year-end adjustments, and providing QuickBooks support.
  • Reporting: Review monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, updating lists and preparing W-2s and 1099 forms.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field.
  • Proficient in tax and accounting software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and CCH Access/ProFX Tax.
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is a plus.
  • Excellent grasp of Microsoft 365 applications, data management, analytics, and reporting preparation.
  • Able to function independently in an autonomous environment.
