
Financial Specialist: Collections Expert

This is a cash management expert position responsible for performing customer collection procedures on outstanding receivables and managing dunning reminders. The role involves monitoring and reviewing the Accounts Receivable Aging report to assist the team leader in ensuring timely collections.
The key responsibilities of this role include taking all necessary action to recover payments from delinquent accounts, providing weekly collection updates to communicate to management the upcoming payments, disputes, and potential write-offs. Additionally, resolving customer's/partner's billing disputes, issues, and requests is an essential part of this job.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with customers and partners to ensure all cash receipts are accounted for correctly. They will also be responsible for conducting credit checks in compliance with approved credit policies and procedures, collaborating closely with sales teams to align credit decisions, and assisting the team leader in providing appropriate action on escalations.
An important aspect of this role is proposing payment plans for management review, responsible for creating Pay on Account Statements and submitting invoices to customers/partners as well as registering accounts to various billing platforms. The successful candidate will maintain targeted Days Sales Outstanding in line with company goals and KPIs, ensure completion of audit support requirements, and assist in operational activities like manual invoicing, cash application, customer refunds, and bank reconciliation and creation of journal entries.
To succeed in this role, one must be able to evaluate processes and initiate improvements to increase operational efficiency, review policies, SOPs, and processes, and align these based on industry practices and standards as necessary. Supporting the team in transitions, implementations, and adaptations to new processes is also a crucial part of this job.
The successful candidate will partner with management in training and developing team members, create and analyze team performance reports used within the team and help leaders and management assess team productivity and capacity. A high level of dependability, strong sense of urgency, and results-orientation are essential for this role. Analytical and strategic thinking, with an emphasis on automation and continuous improvement, is also highly valued.
