About the Role
This is an operational leadership position responsible for developing strategies to support new business opportunities and deliver contracted work in a specific therapeutic area.
Key Responsibilities- Create and optimize delivery strategies for clinical trials within the designated therapeutic area, leveraging expertise and operational capabilities.
- Differentiate our services from competitors in the assigned area through collaboration with relevant experts.
- Support long-term business growth by collaborating with stakeholders, including partners and functional area heads.
- Develop effective delivery strategies for all projects in the assigned area, addressing project and customer needs and challenges.
- Engage and coordinate operations team members to align with the global operational strategy in the therapeutic area.
- Create training materials and resources to support project leads regionally and globally.
In partnership with business development, medical services, proposals, operations, and other functions, secure new business to achieve targets in the relevant therapeutic area.
- Evaluate and manage opportunities from receipt through pricing and proposal development to award; this may include standalone programs, RFIs, capabilities, early engagement, and partnering discussions.
- Support customer-facing meetings, including training and preparation of the project team and ensuring content conveys project strategy and win themes.
- Develop and review project budgets aligned with strategy and pricing targets.
- Attend and present at customer meetings, including bid defenses and partnership meetings; coordinate follow-up actions.
Act as the project champion for awarded projects, working with operations project delivery leaders to enable the delivery team and adjust strategy as progress indicates.
- Handover project strategy to project leads and define the project team profile and structure to meet customer needs.
- Guide project leads throughout the project lifecycle and function as an escalation and governance contact for awarded projects.
- Possess tertiary qualifications in a related science or healthcare discipline.
- Hold minimum 10 years global clinical research experience, including hands-on operational project delivery and/or drug development experience.
- Have minimum 5 years global business development experience, with involvement in processes such as RFPs, client leadership, and relationship management.
- Be an expert in one or more operational areas within the assigned therapeutic area.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our services, trials methodology, and business intelligence in the area.
- Be able to understand customer needs, negotiate solutions, and assess impact on the offering.
- Exhibit excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in English.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and lead a virtual team in a matrix organization.
- Show strong business acumen with financial understanding, negotiation and influencing skills in both sales and operational contexts.
