Job Title: Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

The role of a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist plays a vital part in safeguarding an organization's information security interests. This position works closely with technology teams to identify areas of improvement and supports initiatives to promote information security within the organization.

About the Role

This is a highly technical position that requires strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of network concepts, protocols, and security devices like firewalls, routers, and switches.

  • Monitor security events and logs from various systems and networks to quickly identify potential security incidents and threats.
  • Perform analysis and investigations, correlating events and data to detect security incidents.
  • Incident response and mitigation are key responsibilities of this role, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security breaches.
  • A strong understanding of security best practices and standards is essential for this position, as well as knowledge of major operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and their security features.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in IT security, network security, application security, or a related field.

  • Experience with security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis is highly valued.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of security techniques such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus software.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (KQL, Python, Bash) for automating tasks and security analysis is an asset.
