SOC ANALYST / Cybersecurity Operations Specialist (Mid–Senior Level)

Location: Quezon City

Work Setup: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)

Schedule: Flexible / Shifting

About the Role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to join our R1 Cybersecurity Operations Team. This role is ideal for a mid to senior-level SOC Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong expertise in security operations, network defense, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security tools to identify incidents, network intrusions, and malware events.
  • Validate, triage, and escalate security events using open-source intelligence (OSINT).
  • Review and analyze logs to detect unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Execute incident response workflows and escalate issues following established processes.
  • Investigate security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Support the development of new detection capabilities and improve existing security tools.
  • Research threat intelligence sources to stay updated on new malware, vulnerabilities, and security trends.
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for incident handling.
  • Collaborate with IT and business units on secure project implementations.
  • Provide reports, metrics, and updates on cybersecurity operations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in SOC, IT security, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, networking, and monitoring tools.
  • Solid understanding of network, firewall, and web security.
  • Hands-on experience investigating and documenting InfoSec incidents.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOX, or other security standards.

Preferred:

  • Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Cloud Security certs).
  • In-depth knowledge of NIST SP 800-61, SOC 2 AICPA controls, and frameworks.
  • Experience in threat hunting, forensic data analysis, and static/dynamic code review.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
