As a member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of a project, working closely with the Project Manager (PM) Commercial Manager and other stakeholders. The project involves constructing a facility over approximately 2.5 years, with a Main Contractor overseeing the process. Work packages will be divided into different areas, with some managed by the Main Contractor and others directly with the client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will be responsible for managing all PM Commercial aspects of the project under the PM scope, assisting and supporting the PM Commercial Manager in tasks such as timing, quality, completeness, and quantity of Commercial Management deliverables according to the PM scope and client requirements, emphasizing Commercial Management.
  • You will drive PM Commercial Management scope to achieve objectives of the PM role, focusing on efficiencies in time, cost, quality, and risk improvements.
  • You will proactively manage the Commercial Management programme of works, establishing a platform for continuous improvement and accuracy through implementing tools and processes controls to ensure consistent delivery and reporting across the project.
  • You will prepare and support necessary Commercial Management documentation for awarding, managing, and closing out work packages on the project, including LOAs, LOINs, Purchase Order Agreements, Bonds, Insurance trackers, Commercial documentation trackers, PMIs, Variations, Extension of Time Claims, Loss and Expense Claims, Final Accounts, and contract correspondence.
  • You will draft high-quality Commercial Management correspondence to all project stakeholders.
  • You will collect, review, and analyze project Commercial Management data, producing and completing reports, including contractual claims (Extension of Time and Loss and Expense), bonds and insurance, exceptions, budget, procurement, risk, and construction programme trackers.
  • You will attend weekly progress meetings with project stakeholders, including Contractors and Suppliers, establish status on Commercial progress, and report to PM stakeholders on status and risk items.
  • You will propose solutions, tools, and enhancements to existing PM Commercial Management policies and procedures to reinforce Commercial Management controls with all stakeholders.
  • You will measure, analyze, and improve project performance, including cost, quality control, governance, compliance, and time.
  • You will measure, analyze, and improve Contractor and Supplier performance in Commercial Management matters.
  • You will align reporting models throughout the project regarding Contractor and Supplier performance and progress to report and escalate negative trends and deficiencies in terms of cost, time, and risk.
  • You will closely coordinate and support Project Package Managers and Project Quantity Surveying teams for the benefit of the project.
  • The role requires regular communication with the PM Commercial Team Members, Project Team Members, Contractors, and Client stakeholders to report and drive improvements in time and cost performance and mitigate risk.
