We are seeking a meticulous Medical Transcriptionist to support our eye care specialists during patient consultations. This individual will play a vital role in documenting encounters in real time, helping optimize clinical workflow and ensure accurate medical records.

  • Attend patient consultations virtually or in-person to transcribe interactions with ophthalmologists and optometrists
  • Input notes into electronic health record systems using Windows-based software while observing HIPAA compliance
  • Manage and organize large volumes of medical files securely on a personal PC
  • Flag and clarify inconsistencies in visual exam documentation and diagnostic data
  • Maintain templates for eye exams, surgical consultations, and follow-ups
  • Assist providers by streamlining administrative and documentation duties
Requirements
  • Own a Windows-operated PC (Windows 10 or above) with high-capacity storage for handling large datasets and medical records
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneNote) for documentation and file tracking
  • Ability to navigate electronic health record platforms (e.g., Compulink, RevolutionEHR)
  • Secure internet connectivity for remote sessions if applicable
Qualifications & Skills
  • Familiarity with ophthalmologic terminology (e.g., refraction, tonometry, fundus exam, etc.)
  • Excellent typing speed and attention to clinical detail
  • Prior experience in a transcription or medical scribe role is highly valued
  • Ability to work discreetly and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
