The company seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and risk management solutions that align with its goals.

About the Role

The Legal Counsel will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, support business operations by managing contracts, handling litigation, processing government permits and applications, and fostering a culture of ethical conduct within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Legal Guidance: Offer expert legal advice and guidance to management and business units on various corporate matters.
  • Ensure Compliance: Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential legal and compliance issues.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records to ensure legal obligations are met.
  • Government Relations: Oversee and facilitate processing permits, licenses, and other applications with government agencies.
  • Liaison: Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities to address compliance requirements or resolve issues.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and assist in preparing board and shareholder meetings.
  • Policies and Procedures: Advise on company policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements.
  • Representative: Represent the company in legal proceedings or coordinate with external counsel for litigation management.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to employees on legal and compliance topics, such as contracts, ethics, or anti-corruption policies.
Qualifications and Skills
  • J.D. qualified to practice law
  • Law Degree (Juris Doctor or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3+ years' legal work experience, either in a law firm or as in-house counsel
